NCAA Basketball Highlights

We’re already in the third week of November, and the excitement hasn’t stopped with riveting basketball plays, the ball swishing through the net, nail-biting free throws, and unbelievable shots. Let’s see what your favorite teams got up to this week!

Campus Wardrobe has merch for the following schools: Troy University Trojans, Mercer University Bears, Rice University Owls, Seton Hall University Pirates, University of Texas at El Paso Miners, Tennessee State University Tigers, University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners, University of Memphis Tigers, University of Louisiana Monroe Warhawks, and last but not least, University of Vermont Catamounts.

Troy University

  • Troy’s Duke Deen had 20 points against Jacksonville State in triple overtime.
  • Efe Odigie had eight rebounds and 18 points; Zay Williams chipped in with three blocks, 11 rebounds, and 12 points; and Christyon Eugen added six rebounds.
  • This Friday, November 19, they will be playing North Dakota Fighting Hawks. The following day, it's Troy vs. UT Martin Skyhawks at 2 PM.

Mercer University

  • The Mercer Bears beat Life University’s Running Eagles 78-50.
  • Neftali Alvarez had 17 points, Jalen Johnson and Kamar Robertson both added 15 points, and Felipe Haase had three blocks.
  • On Saturday, November 20, they will be facing off against Saint Louis Billikens.

Rice University

  • Rice defeated the Southern Jaguars 81-63.
  • Carle Pierre added 20 points, Max Fiedler had17 points, Travis Evee with 15 points, and Chris Mullins contributed 13 points.
  • They’ll be playing the New Orleans Privateers on Friday.

Seton Hall University

  • Last week, the Pirates crushed the Yale Bulldogs 80-44.
  • Seton Hall had one of the biggest wins in its school history, beating the Michigan Wolverines 67-65. It was the university’s first win on the road over a nonconference team ranked in the top five as well as its first victory against a top-five team since 2000.
  • They play Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday, November 22.

University of Texas at El Paso

  • Tuesday, November 16, was a huge win for UTEP, with a final score of 88-53.
  • Jamal Bienjemy easily defeated Northern New Mexico with 17 points, and Tydus Verhoeven, Alfred Hollins, and Souley Bourn helped with a collective total of 33 points.
  • They will be playing the Pacific Tigers this Friday.

Tennessee State University

  • Fisk University didn’t have a chance against the Tigers, losing to Tennessee State University 111-56.
  • Christian Brown led the team with 18 points, Dedric Boyd added 15, Kassim Nicholson with 14, Marcus Fitzgerald with 13, and Carlos Marshall Jr scored 11.
  • They will hopefully end the week with a bang during their Sunday game against the South Dakota Coyotes.

University of Texas at San Antonio

  • UTSA player Jordan Ivy-Curry had a career-high 27 points, beating Denver 78-64.
  • Jacob Germany and Dhieu Deing added a collective total of 28 points.
  • The Runners will play Indiana University—Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) this Wednesday night.

University of Memphis

  • Memphis remains undefeated after their Tuesday night game against Saint Louis, winning 90-74.
  • Coach Hardaway tells player Tyler Harris, “I’m going to find a way to get you on the floor because I know you are a points-per-minute guy and you’re a weapon.’’ Tyler had 18 points at the end of the game.
  • The Tigers will play the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers this Friday, Nov. 19, at 8 PM.

University of Louisiana Monroe

  • ULM won 114-59, brutally defeating Champion Christian College. This was the first game of the season where they scored at least 100 points.
  • Warhawk players like Andre Jones, Trey Boston, and Reginald Gee made 33 points in total.
  • They are set to play against NW State Demons next week. Hopefully, they continue to crush the competition.

University of Vermont

  • Vermont easily beat Worcester Tech, winning 81-48.
  • While Ryan Davis had a career-high 28 points, his teammates Kam Gibson and Justin Mazzulla collectively added 21 points.
  • On Friday, they will face off with the Yale Bulldogs.
