NCAA Weekly Highlights – Ice Hockey (Men & Women)

November was a month of surprises in hockey. Some teams that were expected to do well surprised us, while other ones we thought would take the coaster ride had a fantastic month and are on their way up as tournament threats for this coming season!

So, as we wrap up November and enter December, we can anticipate a ton of exciting games, lots of talented players, and a lot of teamsmanship!

Check out Campus Wardrobe’s collection of collegiate apparel for the following schools/teams: Michigan Technological University Huskies, Providence College Friars, Miami University Redhawks, St. Cloud University Huskies, Quinnipiac University Bobcats, University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, Clarkson University Golden Knights, Sacred Heart University Pioneers, and the University of Vermont Catamounts.

Michigan Technological University

  • This past Saturday, November 27, the Huskies dominated the rink, crushing Ferris State by 6-1.
  • The first goal was made by Matthew Quercia, Brett Thorne made the next, Tristan Ashbrook contributed two goals, another by Arvid Caderoth, and the final goal was all thanks to Brian Halonen (with a lot of assists, of course).
  • Next up, Michigan Tech will hopefully start the new month with a win as they stand off against Minnesota State this Friday, December 3.

Providence College

  • This Tuesday, November 30, the Friars closed out the month with a win against Merrimack 3-0.
  • Ciara Barone, Bailey Burton, and Hayley Lunny were the goal makers in this game.
  • They’ll play against Princeton this Friday as well.

Miami University

  • Although Long Island University managed to score a goal, it wasn’t enough to beat Miami. The Redhawks walked off the ice, winning 4-1.

  • Miami will compete against Western Michigan later this week.

St. Cloud University

  • Player Jenniina Nylund carried the game, scoring three goals. Addi Scribner also contributed a point.
  • Cloud will play Bemidji State next.

University of Minnesota Duluth

  • The Bulldogs had a solid game against Alaska Fairbanks, going into overtime but all in all taking home the win.
  • Star goalie Fanti stopped 157 of 161 shots, ranking him third in the nation with his .946 save percentage.
  • They will play Northern Michigan on December 3.

Quinnipiac University (Women)

  • On November 27, the Bobcats beat UConn 3-2.
  • Goals were made by Taylor House, Nina Steigauf, and Sophie Urban.

Clarkson University

  • In their last game, the Golden Knights beat Maine 5-2.
