Utah Valley University (UVU) is a public university in Orem, Utah. It is authorized by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
History
Originally established as Utah State Vocational Office in 1941, there was a significant amount of growth and change over the following decades. The school was renamed several times, and in 1993, Utah Valley University achieved university status and began awarding four-year degrees. In 2008, the Utah legislature allowed the institution to offer master’s degrees.
Academics & Campus
The main campus encompasses 228 acres and is located in Orem with satellite campuses in Heber City, Spanish Fork, North Orem, Provo Municipal Airport, and Lehi. UVU has 48 buildings on the Orem campus and has 39,931 students enrolled. Approximately 88% of the student body are from Utah, and the remaining population represents all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and 74 countries. UVU has a 100% acceptance rate and is the largest university in the state, according to the Utah System of Higher Education report.

Athletics –Wolverines
The sports teams at Utah Valley compete in the Western Athletic Conference.
The Wolverines’ athletic teams include:
Women: basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, track and field, and volleyball.
Men: baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, track and field, and wrestling.
The women’s soccer team was ranked 23rd nationally in 2015, and they were crowned the WAC tournament champions, leading them to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament. The track and field team has won 31 conference championships. They also have 28 individual NCAA Regional Qualifiers and 4 All-Americans. Go Green & White!
