The University of Mount Union is a private university in Alliance, Ohio.

History

In 1846, Orville Nelson Hartshorn founded Mount Union as a place where men and women could be educated with equal opportunity, science would parallel the humanities, and there would be no distinction due to race, color, or sex. Around 1911, Scio College merged with the school. In 2010, the college has renamed the University of Mount Union. Mount was affiliated with the Methodist Church until 2019.

Academics & Campus

The 123-acre campus is 70 miles from Cleveland and 80 miles from Pittsburgh. There is also an additional 162-acre Nature Center. The university offers 49 diverse undergraduate majors and 45 minors that keep with the liberal arts tradition.

The University of Mount Union has an enrollment of 2,209 undergrads that represent 28 states and 12 countries. There are tons of club sports offered, including the Esports program, bowling, flag football, dodgeball, and lots more. Additionally, there are four major social fraternities and four major social sororities.

Athletics -Raiders

The sports teams participate in the Ohio Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III.

The Raiders athletic teams include:

Women: basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.

Men: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and wrestling.

The Raiders have 17 NCAA Division III National Championship wins. Since 1993, the football team won a record 13 Division III national championships. Go Purple & White!
