What is the History of Minot State University?

The Normal School at Minot was founded in 1913 and changed its name to Minot State Teacher's College in 1924. The school became a university in the 1980s.

The Beavers compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), a part of NCAA Division II.

The Beavers athletics program includes:

Women: Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Hockey, Soccer, Softball, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

Men: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Hockey, Track & Field, and Wrestling.

In 2013, the ice hockey team won the men's national championship. Go Red & Green!
