What is the History of Lubbock Christian University?

The school was chartered in 1954, originally as part of a grade school called Lubbock Christian School. In 1957, the institution became a junior college called Lubbock Christian College. It then received accreditation as a senior college in 1972, and advanced to university status in 1987.

The Chaparrals and Lady Chaps are members of the NCAA Division II, competing in the Lone Star Conference.

The Chaparral athletics program includes:

Men: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, and Track & Field.
