California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is a state university in Monterey County, California. According to the 2021 USNWR Best Regional Colleges West Rankings, Monterey is No. 8 on the top public school list.

Academics & Campus

The main campus is located on the retired army base, Fort Ord, approximately 1 mile inland from Monterey Bay and adjacent to California's Central Coast. CSUMB also has a location in the city of Salinas. The university offers 23 bachelor's degrees, 7 master's degrees, and teaching credentials.

There are 6,276 undergraduates, and 595 graduate students enrolled. It is authorized by the WASC Senior College and University Commission as a Hispanic-serving institution. As of fall 2018, CSUMB has the second-largest enrollment percentage of Americans of unknown race or ethnicity in the CSU system.
