What is the History of Ashland University?

Founded in 1878 as Ashland College, it was renamed to its present name in 1989.

The Eagles participate in NCAA Division II as members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The Eagles athletic program includes:

Women: Basketball, Cross Country, Esports, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Stunt, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball.

Men: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Esports, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, and Wrestling.

The student-athletes at Ashland have won more than 650 All-America honors, 56 national championships, and one Sullivan Award. The athletics program has consistently been ranked in the Top 10 of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. Go Purple & Gold!
