History

In 1863, John Collins Bryant and Henry Beadman Bryant established a branch of a state school that taught accounting and business communication. It wasn't identified as Bryant University until 2004.

Academics & Campus

The campus is on 435 acres, 12 miles from Providence and 50 miles from Boston. Within its two colleges, Bryant offers almost 100 courses of study. The New England Association of Schools and the AACSB International accredit the university.

There are currently 3,287 students enrolled who represent 19 countries and 28 states. International students represent six percent of the population, and the top countries of origin are India, Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Panama.

There are 100+ Recognized Student Organizations, including four fraternities and four sororities. The growing Greek life also has two oldest chapters dating back to 1944.

Athletics –Bulldogs

The sports teams participate in NCAA Division I as members of the Northeast Conference.

The Bulldogs' athletic teams include:

Women: basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

Men: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, and track and field.

In 2005, the basketball team reached the NCAA Division II Championship. They have also made it to the Sweet Sixteen for the past four years. In 2004, the baseball team called the Division II College World Series. Go Bulldogs! They have hosted the Division II College World Series regionals before.
